Heart of Light

By Julie O'Hara - Author, Poet and Spiritual WarriorPublished about 8 hours ago 1 min read

Verse 1

Found you standin’ in the quiet,

Wings like shelter from the cold.

Didn’t speak a word about it,

Just that heart of light you hold.

Pre-Chorus

And something in me eased that night,

When you came in sight.

Chorus

You’re the heart of light I carry

When the wind cuts through my bones.

When the road turns rough and narrow,

You’re the warmth that pulls me home.

I don’t need a sign to trust you,

You’re the truth that feels like grace.

Heart of light, you walk beside me

Through every shadowed place.

Verse 2

Your glow never begged for glory,

Just a steady, honest flame.

Liftin’ burdens from my story,

Lovin’ me without a name.

Pre-Chorus

And something in me opened wide,

With you by my side.

Chorus

You’re the heart of light I carry

When the wind cuts through my bones.

When the road turns rough and narrow,

You’re the warmth that pulls me home.

I don’t need a sign to trust you,

You’re the truth that feels like grace.

Heart of light, you walk beside me

Through every shadowed place.

Bridge

Maybe you’re an angel,

Maybe you’re a memory.

Maybe you’re the part of me

That never learned to leave.

Final Chorus

You’re the heart of light I carry

When the night grows sharp and thin.

When the cold comes hard and heavy,

You’re the fire beneath my skin.

I don’t need a sign to trust you,

You’re the truth that feels like grace.

Heart of light, you walk beside me

Through every shadowed place.
