What Is It And Why's It So Dangerous

A frank look at the untreatable disease that affects nearly half the people you might talk to.

To start with, where are these hospitals at when we need them? Dammit! Most of them closed in the 80's. Yes, if you are that young, there were once nice little places where people could go for rest, rehabilitation, and to get a good jolt, meds, or a lobotomy.

We joke a lot about Donald Trump, and little did I know, a decade ago, that when I joked about the what if Donald Trump actually wins scenario, it would turn into such a long running prank. There it is, it's a prank, right! People aren't really so obsessed about Donald Trump that they can't think about little else.

But, that's how a good portion of us are starting to feel, and we're the ones that lean right of center. Not the ones who lean all the way right, because, and it's just my imagination, that's where we found guys like Mike Johnson, Leader Thune, Linda McMahon, Action Barbie (as if we know where to find her now that she's changing offices), and many others who don't seem like they'd be all that fun to hang out with.

Okay, admittedly, there was a time I'd have enjoyed meeting Linda McMahon. But, that disappeared when she had enough face work done that I didn't recognize it was her I was looking at in a recent congressional hearing. No, the work she paid for isn't flattering. Neither is the work that her long time hubby, Vince got. I'm betting that they go to the same surgeon, but I digress.

Now there's this new reason to need the occasional rest home or sanitarium, mental home or locked ward, or whatever you might call them today. It's the newest, and perhaps the craziest of mental health challenges I've heard of since the time I heard about New York psychiatrists seeing more people for depression and claiming it was because of Avatar withdrawals after it finally left theaters. This one is even crazier, because when it was letting the beautiful world of Pandora into your head, or even Natiri visiting you horny boys in your wildest dreams, I could understand it. It was beautiful, afterall.

Now, in 2026, there's a new thing living in your head and we'll all be dammed if he didn't get the most space for the money he could get. People are letting this guy live rent free in their head and take up as much space as he wants, and by all accounts, he's not an attractive man. Even Lisa Lampanelli told him at the Roast of Donald Trump, he'd be forced to settle for banging her if it weren't for all his money.

No, Trump Derangement Syndrome has attacked more people that the after effects of Covid-19. But, what is it?

Trump Derangement Syndrome

What is TDS. It's an obviously derogatory term. It's a term used to describe obsessive feelings about Donald Trump, his statements or actions. It's not a new idea. The late political columnist, Charles Krauthammer, coined the phrase Bush derangement syndrome back in 2003.

Huh, so Bush suffered some of the same effects Donald Trump suffered. Interesting is not going to cover that coincidence. Particularly since it's usually aimed at the opposite side of the political aisle.

A journalist by the name of Fareed Zakaria later went on to define TDS as a hatred of Donald that was so intense that it IMPAIRS PEOPLE'S JUDGMENT!

That's the face of Trump Derangement Syndrome!

But why are people letting Trump have all this free space in their heads? Why are they letting Donald Trump keep them from being able to do things like think straight, stay on topic, or accept that there's a bigger picture they're not seeing in this world of ours. Yes, he's a giant source of discontentment for many, but it's not worth the headache it would cause most people to let him have all that free headspace.

The most important thing, is curing it! Curing Trump Derangement Syndrome has to happen, and soon! It's dangerous to think about how many people are suffering from the lack of freedom of thought, freedom of will, and freedom to think without the worst hairpiece in human history staring them in the face. But how do we cure something so hard to understand?

First, we have to understand the disease!

Donald Trump is a bigger symptom of a problem we let fester for far too long. Dysfunction in Washinton D.C. and in our state capitals.

You'll see one side of the political aisle, the ones suffering the most from TDS, who always seem a little angrier, a little bluer, and a little more down than their colleagues, repeatedly say things that you know aren't true. Do you let it get you down that much? If so, you need help. If not, then you've found the cure! But, they keep saying it and infecting those that believe in them.

That's the problem. WE THE PEOPLE LET GARBAGE RUN THINGS! We can stop!

But, you can also exercise freedom of will, and choose to start looking at things about Trump more objectively.

TRUMP'S TIME WILL COME: That means, in 2029, we will again see him leaving the Whitehouse, likely to go onto his private life, perhaps even to pen his memoirs, something like, "How a Scoundrel Wins The Whitehouse: The Truth About Politics and Porn Stars." But, his two terms will be over.

Trump's old! He's showing signs of slipping. He could step away and retire as early as 2027, particularly, after innauguration day. Why then? Because that would give his successor two years to prep for an election and J.D. Vance could run two times for president. But, there is a two year or less time on that possibility.

Or, you could choose to pay less attention to him and more attention to other things. How important is the Whitehouse to you, and why?

Final Thoughts

There's a great article about Trump Derangement Syndrome. If you think you need it, give it a read. It's from Psychology Today.

In the meantime, remember. Donald Trump is temporary. And the entire reason he was able to win, again, is because............... His opponents completely and utterly sucked. There's literally no other reason for his wins than his opponents were that bad. Just look at the numbers from the last election. There were millions less voters who participated, and that says a ton about the candidates we're being fed.
